The winter of 2004/2005 caused a significant amount of damage on the Coast Line between San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles. The UP threw all sorts of equipment and resources at the slip-outs, sink-holes, and flooding along the line. On February 18th, 2005, the Coast Line has re-opened, but work still continues.
