March 5th, 1982 was busy day in West Oakland. First, checking the West Oakland Diesel Shop, SP passenger GP9E 3187 has slipped out of the shop in gray primer. The "Galloping Ghost," as I refered to it, is in the process of being repainted into the experimental Caltrain paint scheme. Even in the early eighties, it was possible to paint a locomotive out-of-doors in the Bay Area...couldn't do that today!
