Amtrak Acela train 2171 from Boston to Washington rounds the corner into the Providence, RI station. Electrics 2016 and 2038 are in charge of the train on August 18, 2004.
Amtrak Regional train 174 grinds out of the Providence, RI station with AEM7 944 leading 10 Amfleets. The train must be heavy, because it is about 30 minutes late on this August 18, 2004 afternoon.

Up at Worcester, MA, Providence & Worcester GP40's 3002 and 3001 switch out a stack train on August 19, 2004. Power is working under the I-290 overpass.
Wow, a rolling museum piece! With some mighty chugging sounds belying its small size, Providence and Worcester U23B 2208 brings a local up to the south end of the Worcester, MA yard. GP38 2010 is on the other end of this short train, being dragged back home. August 19, 2004.
A Florida East Coast southbound rolls slowly through downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL with GP40's 406 and 438 and GP7 667 on October 30th, 1988.
A late afternoon northbound auto train comes through Fort Lauderdale, FL with FEC GP40's 421 and 403 and GP38 504 on October 30, 1988.
A southbound FEC blasts through Pampano Beach, FL on its way to Miami. GP40-2's 429 and 432 are flying white flags for its "extra train" status. November 2, 1988.

Snow is on the ground at the Gallitzin portal to the Allegheny Tunnel on November 16, 1997 as a westbound emprty coal train rolls towards Pittsburg. Conrail SD60I's 5560 and 5511 are in charge of 87 cars.
A Conrail NPSE is blasting off from Chili Jct., NY after letting two Amtrak trains meet at the crossovers. The power on this cloudy May 9, 1994 is GP40-2 3289 and 3283, GP38-2 8216 and NS C40-8 8666 with 88 cars bound for Selkirk Yard.
Another eastbound, this time a ELSE, rolls quickly through the interlocking at Chili Jct., NY on May 10, 1994. The clouds from earlier in the week have broken and the sun is shining on Conrail GP40-2's 3313 and 3387, C30-7A 6568, and SD40-2 6260 with 110 cars.
An eastbound grain hopper train with B40-8's 5069 and 5083 is about to crossover to the West Shore Line at Chili Jct, NY and in the process bypass downtown Rochester. About 10 to 20 percent of the traffic through the Rochester area used the West Shore Line, but because it had few long sidings, its use was very directional.
A westbound auto train rolls through Chili Jct, NY with 131 autos towed by SD60I 5553 and SD50 6752 on a rainy May 9th, 1994.
Stand back, here comes the TV14 into Rochester, NY with SD50's 6820 and 6714 and SD40-2 6478, leading 93 platforms on May 10, 1994.
